Specimen data for Becquerelite
Tom Mortimer catalog number: 1635
Identification method: XRD analysis by Fred E. Davis, Hamden, CT.
Notes: Photos of several other Becquerelite specimens from Fred's find at the Turner Mine may be seen in the mindat.org photo gallery. Becquerelite is often one of the components of "Gummite", a name used for a complex mixture of several Uranium minerals. In addition to Becquerelite, "Gummite" may include Vanendriesscheite, Fourmarierite, Clarkeite, Kasolite, Soddyite, and "Mineral A". Identification of distinct mineral species within a "Gummite" specimen is often very difficult.
